Passionate about his heritage and artistic expression, Joey continues to explore Native American culture through urban mainstream fashion and music. His 2007 video entitled “Living Proof”, featuring a Pendleton coat, illustrates injustices faced by aboriginal youth in residential schools. By reclaiming traditional imagery, Joey brings themes associated with Aboriginal aesthetics to the forefront of an ongoing debate.

His critically acclaimed project “FEATHER + ROSARY” emphasized the social, political and economic struggle that young Aboriginal men face such as violence, addiction and gang culture. Joey continues to perform in isolated First Nations reserves, working to empower and educate youth.

Joey has created #GreyMagic which represents the strength in affecting change through leadership and social awareness while maintaining himself as the renegade he was born to be.
